The 27th Return Visit and Investment Delegation of World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce will pay a return visit to Taiwan from March 17 to 19, with agenda including meetings with President Ing-wen Tsai and related government authorities and visits to Industrial Technology Research Institute, Food Industry Research and Development Institute, Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, NTHU, and other institutions. World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce is an important organization of overseas Taiwan businessmen that has made outstanding contributions to gathering the strength of overseas Taiwan businessmen, supporting government policies, and assisting in developing the economy and trade of Taiwan. It is an important help for the government to promote economy, trade, and diplomacy. The purpose of this event is to deeply understand the government's important economic and trade policies and Taiwan's industrial development, with an expectation to help build a platform for exchanges and cooperation in Taiwan and abroad, thereby creating business opportunities in the global market.
NTHU is the only academic institution visited by the delegation. On the visit day, it is expected that Chairman Cheng-Yuan Tung of Overseas Community Affairs Council will lead the delegation including 40 overseas Chinese and Taiwanese businessmen to visit NTHU and GLORIA Operation Center and make discussions about cooperation projects. In addition, NTHU will set up an "Overseas Chinese and Taiwanese Businessmen Zone" on the official website of GLORIA with linkage to the other four partner schools of Consortium to implement the MOST Program on Platform for Industrialization of Scientific Research Achievements: National Chengchi University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Feng Chia University and Tamkang University. The platform's research and industry cooperation energy, cooperation mode, contact windows, and other resources can be uploaded to the special zone. Overseas Taiwan and Taiwanese businessmen can scan and browse the information of the special zone through QR code, and share resources with more industry partners to bring about more research-industry matchmaking cases. Meanwhile, they can also make good use of the R & D technology of NTHU and consortium universities of the platform to expand R & D energy to overseas markets and link international resources.
