The “2019 Future Tech Expo” (FUTEX) organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology will open on Dec. 5 at Taipei World Trade Center’s Exhibition Hall 1. The expo, which is considered to be the crowning achievement for industry, academia, and research institutes, will last for four days from Dec. 5 to Dec. 8. The abundant research and development energies and innovative, forward-looking technologies of the domestic academic and research sectors will be on full display in the six forward-looking technical fields of “AI & IOT Applications” (17 technologies), “Electronics & Optoelectronics” (13 technologies), “Smart Machinery & Evolutionary Materials” (10 technologies), “Biotech & New Drugs” (12 technologies), “Medical Devices” (16 technologies), and “Smart Disaster Prevention Systems” (6 technologies) and in the four themed zones of “Smart Agriculture” (12 technologies), Semiconductor Moonshot Project (9 technologies), “Precision Sports” (3 technologies), and “Space Technology” (8 technologies). These projects all integrate creativity with scientific breakthroughs to create stunning, all-new experiences and further narrow the distance between smart life and people to open up unlimited possibilities for the future.
A number of international forums will be held in conjunction with the expo to discuss timely topics such as stem cell therapy, aerospace technologies, the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), 5G technologies, quantum computing, and industrial investment strategies under the escalation of the U.S.-China trade war. Experts from the United States, Finland, Germany, and Australia will deliver keynote speeches and participate in roundtable discussions with domestic experts from industry, government, and academia. It is hoped these discussions will spark dialogue. There will also be a humanities lecture and 60 new technology presentations. In addition, in order to expedite the alignment of academic and research results with industry, the “2019 Future Tech Expo” will see the launch of the exclusive and effective “One-On-One Matching System”.
