  • “The Patents, Technology Licensing, And Intellectual Property Evaluation Introduction,” the Intercommunication Course of NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance Member

  As the COVID-19 epidemic situation is gradually under consideration, NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance held the first Intercommunication Course for the Members on 10th, July, 2020. The theme of intercommunication course was “The Patents, Technology Licensing, and Intellectual Property Evaluation Introduction.” Regarding to the management of intangible assets, today's industry manufacturers pay the high attention to the international layout of patents, technology licensing, and intellectual property. These intangible assets could be compared to a weapon tool of corporate competitiveness, which greatly affects company operations. Therefore, we NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance invites the Associate Professor Yi-Chen Su as today’s speaker. The Associate Professor Yi-Chen Su is also the leader of the Intellectual property team of the NCHU General Center for Academia-Industry Collaboration. The Associate Professor Su graduated from the Law School of the City University of New York, and has the lawyer qualification in New York State and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Currently he is an associate professor of Bachelor Program of Biotechnology at NCHU, a reviewer of Journal of Medical Ethics and a consultant of Cornerstone Intellectual Property Foundation.

  The COO of NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance, Mr. Jerry Huang, give the opening address in the Intercommunication Course. In addition to introducing NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance services and operating mechanism, he mentioned that any enterprise in any field would face the management problems of layout and planning of intellectual property. Thus, he recommended the Associate Professor Su being as a troubleshooting role to the Global Research & Industry Alliance members who encounter the problems of intellectual property. During the lecture, the Associate Professor Su suggested that in addition to the application of patent protection for scientific research results, Global Research & Industry Alliance members can also enhance their core values and show the company’s status in the industry through intellectual property applications and international layout planning. Furthermore, in terms of technology authorization, Know How is extremely important because there is often a lack of clear definitions in the law. That’s why the planning and management of intellectual property is very important.

  The speaker had obviously struck a chord with NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance members in this intercommunication course. Through this course, the relationship between NCHU Global Research & Industry Alliance members are closer. Moreover, Members get more brainstorming from how to plan the layout of intellectual property, how to develop the international market, and to create greater economic benefits under such strict regulations.
