The National Chengchi University (NCCU) and the Yung-Ching Realty Group held the academia-industry collaboration press conference and contract signing ceremony on February 10th in the Administration Building of the NCCU. The NCCU President Ming-Cheng Kuo and Yung-Ching Realty Group Chairman Ching-Yu Sun jointly announced that Yung-Ching would donate NT$ 30 million for the professional team to be formed by multiple colleges, departments and institutes of the NCCU. The two parties aimed at creating new values for the academia-industry collaboration through charitable ideology and set the goal of creating a mutually beneficial scenario among the society, the industry, the academia and the enterprise. Various academia-industry collaboration and internship programs with a term of three years would be launched.
During his speech, President Ming-Cheng Kuo especially pulled out his candidate speech from the selection of president six years ago to show that his first policy back then was to promote academia-industry collaboration. He stated that the charitable collaboration with Yung-Ching Realty Group was not only a collaboration between the academia and the industry but also an effort to combine the university social responsibility (USR) with the corporate social responsibility (CSR) more closely and in turn change the society, to instill more momentum for growth and developmental opportunities as well as give back to the industry and benefit the society. "This is a meaningful project that would go down in history!" He also stated that the NCCU would have more energy in the future to work with the government, companies and regional departments on research and development in order to fulfill the goal of creating a mutually beneficial scenario among the society, the industry, the academia and the enterprise.
Yung-Ching Realty Group Chairman Ching-Yu Sun, on the other hand, revered the NCCU as an internationally renowned and top-tier educational institute in Taiwan. Furthermore, the Department of Land Economics was a cradle that nurtured the academic experts and industry authorities in real estate all around Taiwan. Most of the governmental officers in related departments and real estate agents graduated from the Department of Land Economics of the NCCU. Ching-Yu Sun said, "I am grateful for President Kuo's forward-looking vision in forming a creative and highly executive team and program." On the eve of the twentieth anniversary of the passing of the Real Estate Broking Management Act, the Department of Land Economics organized the first collaborative project of the two parties, namely the "Real Estate Elite Excellence Program of Taiwan ," which provides free courses for students and the general public with the aim of improving the professionalism of the real estate industry in Taiwan.
As a graduate from the Department of Land Economics, Hua Ching-Chun, Political Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Interior stated that the NCCU had solid academic power and cultivated outstanding talents for Taiwan. He believed that Yung-Ching Realty Group's "decision to support the NCCU and the Department of Land Economics was definitely a correct one!" He also had full confidence and high expectations for the collaboration between the two parties since the improvement of the professional standard in the industry would stabilize the real estate market and would in turn definitely produce beneficial results for the domestic economics.
As an important figure in forging the collaboration between the two parties, NCCU Vice President Yi Chao stated that the NCCU had cultivated many talents. More than 130,000 graduates from the NCCU had contributed greatly to the development of the society in Taiwan. In the past, the colleges, departments and institutes of the NCCU mostly conducted academia-industry collaboration independently. "This time, the academia-industry collaboration with Yung-Ching Realty Group is mainly charitable. This is a new beginning and we must succeed. We hope to fulfill the ultimate goal of creating a mutually beneficial scenario among the NCCU staff and students, the industry, the academia and the society as a whole."
The Chief Operating Officer of the Operation Center of Industry-Academia Cooperation and Innovation-Incubation Wu-Chun Chi, who is in charge of the collaboration, stated that this year is the twentieth anniversary of the legislation for the real estate broking industry, and the first collaborative project with Yung-Ching Realty Group would offer free one-year basic courses, including real estate (agency) salesperson orientation training and certification renewal courses, real estate (agency) broker certification renewal courses, and so on. The courses will be launched in the second quarter of the year, starting from Taipei City and New Taipei City and later expanding to all of the major cities in Taiwan. The goal is to have 100 classes within a year. More than a hundred teachers are expected to be recruited to teach at least 6,000 students.
Wu-Chun Chi further explained that the series of courses would recruit professors and outstanding graduates from the Department of Land Economics and the College of Law of the NCCU. Outstanding lecturers currently engaging in related educational courses all around Taiwan are also welcomed to join the faculty of the Center for Public and Business Administration Education of the NCCU. In addition, real estate workers, university students in their junior year and above or the general public who are interested in real estate all around Taiwan are welcomed to enroll in the charitable training courses in order to improve one's own real estate professionalism.
Many VIPs attended the contract signing press conference today. In addition to Political Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Interior Ching-Chun Hua, Deputy Director of the Department of Land Administration Cheng-Ji Wang, Former Director of the Department of Land Administration Yuan-Xu Zhang, Land Revolution Association Taiwan Chairman Song-Ling Yang, The Real Estate Appraisers Association of Taipei City Chairman Hui-Hua Zhuo, and many high-level management members of media and the communications industry. NCCU Vice Presidents Mei-Lie Chu and Wen-Chieh Wang, Dean of College of Commerce Wei-Chi Tsai, Dean of College of Science Nai-Xin Yan, Dean of College of Communication Li-Hsin Kuo, College of Law Director Lai-Jie Ho and Dean of Department of Land Economics Lao-Sheng Lin and various professors also attended the ceremony.
The "Real Estate Elite Excellence Program of Taiwan" is the first stage of the NT$ 30 million collaboration between Yung-Ching Realty Group and the NCCU. Later stages include collaboration and internships with the College of Social Sciences, the College of Communication and the College of Commerce.
