  • TA LIANG TECHNOLOGY Collaborates With National Taiwan University Of Science & Technology To Develop Critical Manufacturing Technologies In Semiconductor Industry

With the assistance from GLORIA Project Office of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), CMP Innovation Centre, NTUST and TA LIANG TECHNOLOGY jointly received NTD 20 million of project grants from the Industrial Value Creation Program for Academia supported by Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The focus of the project is the commercialization of dynamic 3D pad surface topography measurement with intelligent control system on CMP tool for IC fabrication. It is hoped that the project will help to increase the competitiveness of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.
 
To establish long-term collaboration with university, TA LIANG TECHNOLOGY also launched a joint semiconductor R&D center with NTUST. The signing ceremony held on September 27. Mr. Laurie Wang, the Chairman of TA LIANG TECHNOLOGY, attended the ceremony as the representative of the corporate and signed the contract with the President of NTUST, Dr. Ching-Jong Liao. By launching the joint research center with the university, the project will be undertaken with the goal of creating added-value for the semiconductor industry in Taiwan.
 
Regarding the tasks of this project, Prof. Chao-Chang Chen, Director of CMP Innovation Center mentioned that the analysis software for the dynamic 3D pad surface topography measurement will be delivered by the lab while the system integration with the hardware design will be done by TA LIANG TECHNOLOGY with the objective of building an intelligent control system on CMP tool for IC fabrication. In addition, the corporate will also establish a new business unit along with the project, and several postgraduate students joined the project have also been recruited by the TA LIANG TECHNOLOGY. As for the GLORIA Project Office, it provides services not only for the corporate counts, but also the research teams of the university, including matching the demands from both sides and seeking for needed resources for the researches to broaden and deepen the scale of industry- academia collaboration. Not to mention that assisting the talents to connect with the industry for their career path by cultivating professionals via these collaborations is also anther focus of what GLORIA intends to achieve the goal of accelerating advances in technology and increasing industry competitiveness.
