The symposium on "A New Blue Sea for FinTech in Taiwan: Key Policies and Market Development Trends", the most important symposium in the second half of 2018, was hosted by the Global Research and Industry Alliance (GLORIA) of National Chengchi University (NCU) and Global Views Monthly magazine at Room 102 of the Taipei International Conference Center on the afternoon of December 2014. Much effort went into organizing the three special lecture sand three topical forums for the symposium. The handpicked keynote speakers and forum participants as well as FinTech topics ranging from the latest market intelligence to pioneering policies produced very incisive representations that excited the audience!
The forum began with opening speeches delivered by CEO Wang Lee-ling from NCU GLORIA and GVM President Yang Ma-li. These were immediately followed by an international master's lecture on "On "FinTech: from Block chain to machine learning and beyond" from Chair Professor Guo Xin of U.C. Berkeley in the U.S. GVM's announcement of its findings from the "2018 GVM Taiwan FinTech Survey" was used as an opportunity to invite the four winning banks from the GVM "1st Digital Financial Banking Service Awards" to share their key innovation strategies for digital banking services in response to digital finance trends.


After the exciting keynote speech and report on the FinTech market, GLORIA CEO Wang Lee-ling gave a presentation on "Key future policies and a new blue sea market for FinTech in Taiwan." The presentation was then followed by two policy and market development forums. The "Pioneering Policy Forum" invited Koo Li-hsiung (Chairman, Financial Supervisory Commission ), Kuei Hsien-nung (Chairman, Taiwan Insurance Institute), and Tsang Cheng-yun (Director, NCU FinTech Regulatory Sandbox Laboratory) to dissect key issues in current FinTech development including the analysis and use of data, cyber-security, regulatory sandbox and technology, and the cultivation of talent. Participants also explored critical polices for guiding future FinTech development. The "Market Trend Forum" chaired by Secretary-General Wu Dang-jie of Taiwan Financial Services Roundtable invited key figures in Taiwan's FinTech market including Cheng Cheng-mount (Deputy Minister, National Development Council), Sean Pien (General Manager, Microsoft Taiwan), Wu Jian-hong (Partner, IBM), and Liang Jhih-hsiang (General Manager Taiwan, Refinitiv (formerly known as Thomson Reuters)) to talk freely about the blue sea for Taiwanese FinTech in terms of business management, technology improvement, data analysis and investment strategy.
